BIOGRAPHY

Miriam David

BA, BBus., CAHRI
Born in the early 1980s, in the serene city of Hobart, Tasmania; Miriam has always had an attraction to Human Interaction and Human Behaviour.
Psychology seemed to be the natural career path, so Miriam commenced her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2002.

During this period, Miriam migrated to “Mainland” Australia to be closer to her extended family. She started working at a Telstra call-centre in a Customer Service position. This opened her eyes to a whole new world of Human Behaviour - observing Operator/Management interaction, conflict management, stress management and training and development. Miriam was hooked. She knew she found her niche in Human Resources. After the birth of her first child, Miriam commenced her BBus. in Human Resource Management. She has strategically worked in fixed-term contracted positions for the majority of her career thus far; in order to gain broad experience in the various facets of Human Resources Management within broad range of industries.
After over a decade, and the birth of her second child, Miriam felt it was time to find a Permanent position within a solid organisation where she could utilise the skills and experience gained. In March 2019 Miriam found that opportunity to plant roots for her growth and development within a Blue Collar National Organisation with an endless scope of growth opportunity. When she isn’t working, you might find Miriam with her kids on an Adventure in the Backyard; Painting an acrylic Abstract on Canvas; Cooking a Feast for a get-together; Belting out a tune on stage; or relaxing with her fur-babies, listening to her Vinyl Bob Marley Collection (...in which case - Please do not disturb!).

"In recent research conducted The Australian Institute of Human Resources, it was found that of the 1000 Employees surveyed; less than 37% of employees believe they align with their company's values and applying company values to their work.... And only 19% of Employees believe Executive Management display their Company's Values in their workplace dealings.
I'm passionate about Business Strategy AND Staff Engagement. It's not a surprise that most organisations need to revitalise their Vision, Mission and Company Values (System of Values) - In aid of fostering a Positive Workplace Culture. I want to help businesses develop their own an engaged workforce, which in turn will support the evolving Strategic Plan for their business. That was my inspiration for this article, as I'm now a Company HR Executive, I still want to be able to assist other businesses and Industry Professionals." - Miriam David
